Enchantment of Deceit is directed by Melissa De Leon, with a script also written by her. Her inspiration came from her love of the Harry Potter books and films. With Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows film soon coming out, she began thinking about the world J.K. Rowling created, which led to her to ask the questions: What were other wizards and witches doing while Harry Potter and his friends were fighting Lord Voldemort and how were their lives being affected by this? Were there others out there fighting on the side of the Dark Lord and killing in his name?
And so she decided to buy an HD camera to make sure the movie looked as best as it could and began to write a script based on the answers she came up with. Soon she recruited her brothers and friends to help her bring her vision to life. Despite liking her film, she felt there were things she could improve upon. She actually didn't get to film her original script since she had to change most of it the night before filming began since a lot of things went wrong, including people dropping out at the last minute. Melissa could have delayed filming, but there were people who had made the time to work on the film so she decided to go ahead and stay up most of the night to make changes to the script. She felt she owed it to those who had dedicated themselves to learning the wand choreography and who had called out of work to take part in the film.
